About

Our special recipe was created by Mark Chetty, a Seychellois man of Indian descent, and his wife Jeannette Chetty, on the beautiful island of Mahé, Seychelles in the year of 1981.

Mark made his powder based on his love for true spice and flavour that he grew up around as an Indian-Seychellois child. He learnt to make an authentic curry powder recipe that had been the secret of our Indian ancestors’ flavourful curries for generations. With this recipe and some careful experimenting by adding more herbs and spices of different volumes, he eventually modified the powder into the Creole curry blend that it is today.

Jeannette and Mark owned a small family food shop on Mahé, which they ran in order to earn a living and care for their four children. With this as a perfect way to earn some extra income, Mark and Jeannette started selling the powder in their shop.

Now based in Scotland, Marie Chetty, daughter of Jeanette and Mark, has carried on the legacy of the special powder by revealing the unique blend of spices, where you can now easily acquire and enjoy the exquisite tastes of Seychelles for yourself.
